Non-Medical Grade Masks

Masks have become an essential part of our daily lives since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although non-medical face masks don’t provide the same level of protection as a surgical mask or N95 mask, there is no doubt that they have an important role to play in protecting both the wearer and those around them. 

While medical grade masks are designed to protect healthcare workers from exposure to airborne viruses, non-medical grade masks are intended to provide a barrier between the user and the outside world. Good quality masks, whether a cotton face mask or a disposable mask, help reduce the transmission of respiratory illnesses, such as colds and flu.

Non-Medical Masks 

Non-medical grade masks can broadly be classified into two categories: cloth masks and disposable face masks. Reusable cotton face masks can be worn multiple times and are easy to wash, which makes them great for everyday use. Also, cotton face masks feature a filter pockets so wearers can add filters for improved bacterial filtration efficiency.

See-Through Reusable Masks 

Reusable see-through masks have become increasingly popular, as more people look for ways to protect themselves and others from the spread of illness without hindering their ability to communicate. 

These face coverings offer a number of benefits over traditional cloth masks, including improved visibility and breathability. See-through masks also allow the wearer to communicate more easily with others, as it is possible to see facial expressions and lip movements, just like with face shields. Additionally, these masks can be worn for extended periods of time without causing irritation or discomfort. When properly cared for, reusable see-through masks can last for many months, making them a more sustainable option than disposable masks. 

Cloth Masks 

Cloth masks can be reused multiple times after being washed, which makes them more environmentally friendly than disposable masks. They are also typically more expensive than disposable masks and must be washed. 

Disposable Masks

The Importance of Non-Medical Face Masks

The use of good masks has been shown to be effective in controlling the spread of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19.
